Sherry Miller joined Dean Realty Co. in 1999 in the role of marketing director. Sherry is responsible for production of the company's collateral materials and devising targeted direct mail and email campaigns. She has been instrumental in developing and implementing various programs that benefit tenants and employee recognition, as well as supporting the facilities efforts through property enhancements. Her department directly supports the leasing team by creating resources that further company objectives, including web site development/maintenance, industry database management, available space staging and sign design/placement. She promotes Dean Realty Co. through participation in trade conventions, seminars, Chamber events and industry functions.
Sherry came to Dean Realty Co. from Cohen-Esrey Real Estate Services, where she supervised the marketing and research efforts for their 37-broker team. There she developed formal systems for increasing the efficiency and productivity of the department, produced the company's annual report and assisted in the development of individualized marketing strategies for the brokerage and property management groups. Prior to Cohen-Esrey, Sherry worked with the restructuring team brought in by the FDIC for Midland Bank in 1994. There she worked as director of marketing, advertising and public relations to update the bank's products and services, including the development of senior and children's banking programs. She authored articles and ads for publication in community papers and assisted with dispensation of the bank's $22 million REO/foreclosure portfolio. The restoration of Midland Bank is heralded as one of the most successful turnarounds in banking history.
In 1992, Sherry joined Copaken, White & Blitt's suburban office building property management group. There she assisted in the management of five office complexes, including the Renaissance and NCAA buildings in Overland Park. In her role, she was responsible for monitoring budgets, providing cost analysis, as well as communicating with and assisting tenants with move ins/outs. Other duties included coordinating tenant finish, repairs and expansions with the facilities group and construction contractors, property inspections and assisting leasing agents.
Sherry supported the efforts of the Marillac Foundation as a program production volunteer for the organization's Festival of Trees benefit at Longview Farm. She is a member of the Kansas City Chief Marketing Officers Association and KCCREW (Kansas City Commercial Real Estate Women). She has supported the efforts of the Salvation Army's Project Warmth the past several years, participated in fundraising events for the Mattie Rhodes and Guadalupe Centers, and is a member of the Audubon Society. Sherry attended Eastfield College in Dallas, Texas, completed certificates in Dreamweaver web design software, and has attended numerous graphics design and marketing-related seminars. She serves on the board of directors for her Truman Lake residential community outside of Clinton, Missouri.
