David Ayres joined Dean Realty Company in 2009 as a maintenance technician in the field services group. David has significant experience in building maintenance and construction. His responsibilities include essentially all requirements of maintaining Dean's 2.3 million square footportfolio from both a mechanical and aesthetic perspective, as well as upkeep of the company's significant development acreage. He is a professional and results-oriented resource for the company and its tenants, supporting Dean Realty's commitment to an outstanding experience for all tenants.
David has prior experience in all phases of construction, remodeling, and business ownership, having spent seven years owning and operating his own company, Absolutely Anything Construction. The previous six years were spent as an engineering supervisor for House of Lloyd where he was responsible for all aspects of building maintenance, including supervision of the maintenance staff.
David has earned a diversified and extensive knowledge of construction-related skills that include certifications in welding and fire protection. His specialty is metal working, both structural and ornamental, having been a blacksmith for his own company, Innovative Iron, for 10 years. His talents include creation of custom interior handrails, ornate gates and furniture. David attended the Kansas City Art Institute and the 1986 Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs where he trained for the track and field one-mile event. Though he did not make the team, his talents were significant enough to make him a prospect.
David's personal interests include being an accomplished shooter in the American Darters Association. He also enjoys participating in barbecue contests, riding off-road vehicles, and designing, creating and fabricating iron sculptures.
